The first major Windows 11 update, version 22H2 introduced many changes and new features. There are also some practical and not necessarily highlighted tips.
Published on September 20, Windows 11 22H2 offers several new features including the ability to create folders in the Start menu and the return of “drag and drop” to the taskbar. We also find a new file explorer offering support for tabs and a new sidebar.
Microsoft has also introduced tricks that are not necessarily documented. Some are not “secondary” and can quickly become indispensable. Did you know that it is now possible to adjust the audio volume with the mouse wheel? The operation is very simple. The function activates automatically as soon as the cursor passes over the audio icon in the taskbar. This advancement does not require a mouse compatible with a multimedia mode. It allows to control and manage the audio volume via the wheel of any mouse.
It was first discovered with Windows 11 Build 22478 released in September 2021 through the Windows Insider program. It is now available for all Windows 11 22H2 users.
Windows 11, other new features are expected.
We know that Microsoft is working on other “Moment” updates that bring new things. “Moment” is the company’s internal code name for the most important cumulative updates provided outside of feature updates. This change introduced with Windows 11 should make it possible to offer improvements and developments more quickly.
For example, the first “Moment” update added tabs and a sidebar to File Explorer. The next, Moment 2 is expected for the month of February or March. Rumors also refer to Moment 3 around May 2023. For the moment there is little information on their contents. References to the management of “ seconds by taskbar clock and improvements for Task Manager.
