For a mid-range smartphone, the Oppo Reno 8 offers an almost premium experience, but with a more contained price. Today, it becomes even cheaper by going from 599 euros to 549 euros at several e-merchants.
Oppo has renewed its Reno range, the affordable alternative to the premium Find range. The manufacturer has therefore presented three new smartphones: the Oppo Reno 8 Lite, the Reno 8 Pro and the Reno 8. The latter stands out from the pack for its value for money and its characteristics close to the top of the range, all for a relatively low price. It tries to impose itself on a very competitive market, but already becomes more interesting thanks to this discount of 50 euros on its price.
What are the strengths of the Oppo Reno 8?
- A 6.43-inch 90Hz OLED display
- A powerful SoC: Dimension 1300
- Good battery life and ultra-fast charging
With an introductory price of 599 euros, the Oppo Reno 8 is currently on sale at 549 euros on the Amazon site, but also Boulanger, Fnac, Darty and the RED by SFR store.

Oppo Reno 8 at the best price?
A smartphone that is close to premium
Even with its plastic frame, the Reno 8 is close to premium from Oppo. Aesthetically pleasing, it benefits from a harmoniously integrated monocoque design, the coating of which avoids unsightly fingerprints. The grip is pleasant, in particular thanks to its flat edges and its weight of 180 grams. It is equipped with a 6.43-inch AMOLED panel in FHD +, and benefits from a refresh rate of 90 Hz for smooth navigation.
The smartphone is based on the MediaTek Dimensity 1300 processor. This chip is not the most efficient of the lot, but it allows the Oppo Reno 8 to be ultra pleasant on a daily basis and to avoid overheating. It’s powerful enough for the vast majority of everyday uses, including 3D gaming. And to provide a good user experience, it runs on Android 12 Coupled with ColorOS 12.1 interface.
A rendered photo part, and ultra-fast charging
On the photo side, the Reno 8 uses the same sensors as the Pro version, namely: a 50-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The difference from the classic Reno 8 is that it does not include the MariSilicon X chip responsible for photo and video processing. The main sensor is very good at getting pretty shots, but the ultra-wide-angle can’t keep up with it when the sun starts to set.
With its 4,500 mAh battery, the phone is able to last a day and a half without flinching. But where Oppo hits hard is at the charging level. The Reno 8 is compatible with fast charging at 80W, which recovers the entire battery in around 30 minutes. In a few minutes, you will already have plenty to go for an evening.
