Samsung continues to judge One UI 5 on its Galaxy devices. Folding smartphones, tablets and smartphones are currently receiving the update to Android 13.
In the absence of major novelties at the end of the year, Samsung is taking care of its fleet of Galaxy devices. The South Korean giant has set itself the goal of achieving the deployment of One UI 5 before 2023, a real change in strategy for Samsung. In the past, the manufacturer was not always a good student when it came to rolling out software updates.
As the specialized site SamMobile explains, it would be a huge feat for Samsung to achieve this goal. During an interview, she did announce that she “would keep completing the deployment during this year”. A great news for Galaxy device owners, who can see that Samsung has met double bites. As a reminder, the main new features of Samsung’s new interface based on Android 13 can be found in this article.
Android 13 is coming to the Galaxy Z
For the past few weeks, Samsung has been chaining updates to its smartphones. After the Galaxy S22, the flexible models are in the spotlight with the arrival of One UI 5 on the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4. Older models, the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3, can also benefit from it now. These smartphones delight the Galaxy A73 and Tab S8; and many others.
Indeed, the XDA Developers site reports that five more Galaxy devices are hosting the update. The Galaxy S21 FE, launched at the start of the year, or the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7 Plus are concerned. Still other entry-level models benefit from One UI 5, such as the Galaxy A52, the Galaxy A71 which started with Android 10 or the Galaxy F62. Let’s also not forget the Note range and the Galaxy Note 10 Lite which just got the update. Note that the deployment of the update is done in waves and sometimes you have to wait a few days before you can install it.
Anyway, Samsung is in time to succeed and offer its update on all its eligible devices before the end of the year. A great performance from the manufacturer, which is not content to update its top-of-the-range models.
Why is Samsung accelerating the deployment of updates?
Very present in the entry and mid-range segments, Samsung has a large catalog of smartphones and tablets. The world number one has also reviewed its strategy to keep his crown and updating all of its templates quickly is one of them. Indeed, competition is intensifying and many models are facing Samsung’s Galaxy A. For a head start, the manufacturer bet on software monitoring. This requires extensive support and rapid deployment, which allows it to be one of the best – if not the best – students on Android. During the year, the manufacturer also added a “repair mode” to its smartphones.
