Oppo’s Reno range is the alternative to the premium Find range. It was renewed recently with three models, and it’s the Reno 8 that stands out. It is able to meet the expectations of any user profile with its characteristics close to the top of the range, all for a relatively contained price. It is also more accessible today by falling to less than 450 euros.

What we like about the Reno 8

  • A bright and well-calibrated AMOLED screen.
  • Smooth and powerful thanks to the Dimension 1300 SoC.
  • Good battery life and ultra-fast charging.

Released at a price of 599 euros, the Oppo Reno 8 is currently available on sale at 499 euros on the Red By SFR site, but thanks to a valid ODR until 31/12/22the phone drops to 449 euros.

And if you get for a non-binding package (160 GB at 16 euros / month), it costs you 399 euros.

Oppo Reno 8 at the best price?

A successful and efficient mid-range

The Reno 8 from Oppo does not have to be ashamed of the more upscale models. It offers a harmoniously integrated monocoque design, and whose coating avoids unsightly fingerprints. The grip is pleasant, in particular thanks to its flat edges and its weight of 180 g. And, in terms of the display, there is a 6.43-inch AMOLED FHD + panel, which benefits from a refresh rate of 90 Hz for smooth navigation.

The brand does not neglect the technical sheet and equips the Reno 8 with the MediaTek Dimensity 1300 processor. This chip is not the most efficient of the lot, but allows the phone to be pleasant on a daily basis and to avoid accelerated. It’s powerful enough for the vast majority of everyday use, including 3D gaming without shuddering. And to provide a good user experience, it runs on Android 12 Coupled with ColorOS 12.1 interface.

An enduring smartphone, with a rendered photo part

To drain its 4,500 mAh battery, it takes just over a day to flatten it. And, if you have a rather intensive use, the Reno 8 is compatible with fast charging at 80 W, which recovers the entire battery in about 30 minutes. In a few minutes, you will already have plenty to go for an evening.

Regarding the photo part, if the Reno 8 does not benefit from the MariSilicon X chip responsible for photo and video processing on the Find X. It is equipped with the same sensors as the Pro version, namely: a 50 megapixel main sensor, a 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The main camera is very good at getting nice shots, but the ultra-wide-angle can’t keep up with it when the sun starts to set.
