Toyota has unveiled new details about its new electric car dubbed bZ3. Rival of the Tesla Model 3, one of best electric carsit was developed in collaboration with BYD, one of the Chinese automotive giants.
Toyota unveiled its very first fully electric car in 2021. This is the bZ4X, which was discontinued due to its wheels coming off. Decidedly, Toyota continues to have its electric fleet evaluated. A car offering such great range at an affordable price
It Home, a Chinese website explained that Toyota’s new electric car is based on the e-TNGA system. It is powered by an electric motor available in 2 versions, namely a 178 or 238 horsepower engine. As for the maximum speed, it was limited to 160 km/h. The sedan has two batteries with a capacity of 49.92 and 65.28 kWh. These will be manufactured by Fudi, an entity affiliated with BYD As for autonomy, the future bZ3 is indicated at 517 and 616 km according to the CLTC cycle. The latter being less demanding than the European WLTP standard, it generally offers a level of consumption of 10 to 15%. In the end, it will be necessary to take into account 500 km.
Moreover, this site reveals that the price of this newcomer will start at amount of 25,580 euros. This sum is very accessible for a sedan, in particular compared to the price of the Tesla Model 3 which amounts to 53,490 euros and its autonomy of 510 kilometers.
Toyota provides more details on its new new electric car
When Toyota made the bZ3 official in October 2022, no details were actually given as to its technical specifications. The brand simply showed off its design. This one naturally approaches the bZ4X model. measuring 4.72 meters longwhich is 3 cm longer than the Tesla Model 3, this newcomer benefits from 0.218 of Cx, a more interesting value than that of its rival.
The car adopts a modern design. It incorporates a large vertical touch screen, accompanied by a digital handset. As for the steering wheel, the bZ3 takes up the classic playing model of the bZ4X. In addition, the controls have been integrated directly into the infotainment system, which explains the total absence of physical buttons.
The bZ3 has a generous wheelbase of around 2.88 min guarantee passengers sufficient space on board. On the other hand, the volume of the trunk has not yet been communicated in detail for the moment. As a reminder, it should be noted that the Model 3 offers a capacity of 542 liters.
Toyota has not yet announced the launch date of its new electric car in France. But it could well land on the French market next year.
