For the first time, we will be able to see Teslas in competition in 2023. Scandinavian supertourism is changing its formula, and a team will be entering Model 3s.
Electric car competitions have multiplied in recent years. The first was obviously Formula E, which will inaugurate its third generation of single-seaters in 2023. Extreme E arrived last year, as did ETCC, a discipline halfway between supertouring and rallycross.
In 2023, another single-seater discipline called ERA will make its debut, as will the new STCC formula. The latter is the Scandinavian supertouring championship, which has decided to go electric in 2023.
We already knew that BMW i4s and Volkswagen ID.3s had found takers. But the Tesla Model 3, announced as one of the three models available, had not been chosen.
It is now done, since the Brink Motorsport team will replace its Audi RS 3 LMS with Model 3. Tobias Brink, its director, is impatient to discover this new car.
“We are really looking forward to seeing the new cars, the philosophy is good! »did he declare. “More power, all the torque immediately, rear-wheel drive, a little less grip, that’s a recipe that I like. »
These cars will meet a single technical regulation. Thus, the three models will have 550 horsepower engines. Most of the development went to Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky, who also drives in Extreme E.
