Tesla Model S and Model X Plaid (1020 hp): orders are open for Europe

“We are happy to inform you that the Model S and Model X Plaid are on their way to Europe”, says the statement from Tesla. This is news that should delight European aficionados of the manufacturer who were impatiently waiting to be able to order the updated versions of the Model S and Model X Plaid.

Only the Plaid version with three electric motors (Tri-Motor) and all-wheel drive will be offered. Future owners could touch them between December 2022 and February 2023. Regarding the versions with two electric motors (Dual Motor) and all-wheel drive, if orders are currently open, their deliveries will not take place before 2023.

A Model S Plaid with 600 km of autonomy

Available from the Tesla configurator, the Model S Plaid is characterized by the presence of three electric motors with a total power of 1020 hp (maximum speed of 322 km/h) and a 0 to 100 km/h reached in 2.1 s . The announced range is 600 km (WLTP cycle).

Available from €138,990, this Model S Plaid comes standard with pearly white exterior paint (count between €1,800 and €2,200 for other colors), 19-inch rims (Tempest model), an all-black interior (add 2400 € for a black and white or beige) in which there are three screens including a central 17-inch swivel (diagonal of 43.18 cm, definition of 2200 x 1300 pixels). A second 8-inch screen (20.32 cm diagonal) is placed on the second row for the attention of rear passengers.

As for the third, it is the instrument cluster of 12.3 inches (diagonal of 31.24 cm). There is also the famous Yoke half-flywheel, also present on the Model X Plaid.

The Autopilot remains a paid option (from 3800 to 7500 €), just like the tow hook (towing capacity up to 1600 kg).

A Model X Plaid with six passengers only

The Model X Plaid is also equipped with three electric motors with a total power of 1020 hp (maximum speed of 262 km/h). The 0 to 100 km/h takes a little longer: 2.6 s.

The American SUV, which still retains its Falcon rear doors – the opening evokes the wings of a falcon – is only offered in a six-passenger version, while the classic Model X can carry up to seven people.

On the equipment side, the Model X Plaid is practically identical to the Model S Plaid, namely a pearly white exterior paint, a black passenger compartment Also equipped with three screens: a 17-inch swiveling central, an 8-inch one and the instrument cluster 12.3 inches. The differences relate to the presence of 20-inch rims (Cyberstream model) and the huge panoramic glass roof. Note here that the towing hook (towing capacity up to 2500 kg) is offered as standard.

The Model X Plaid is available from €141,990, excluding options.
