It is now Oppo’s turn to announce longer software support for its future smartphones. From 2023, Oppo smartphones will also benefit from 4 years of Android software updates and 5 years of security updates.

From 2023, high-end Oppo smartphones will have 4 major ColorOS updates
In an official statement, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer announced its new policy regarding ColorOS updates, its operating system. It guarantees ” four major ColorOS updates with 5 years of security fixes for global users on select flagship models from 2023 “.
Concretely, this means that Oppo’s flagships will have 4 years of software updates and 5 years of security updates after their release. This is great news for users who can keep their smartphones longer. Oppo has not given more information on which models will benefit from the longer software support. It will certainly not be all Oppo smartphones, but rather high-end models that will be released in 2023. The Find N2 Flip, which will be launched in France in the first quarter of 2023, will therefore surely be part of it.
With this new policy, Oppo joins OnePlus and Samsung which offers the same duration of Android updates. However, Google is still lagging behind these three manufacturers. Its Pixels only have three major Android updates, but they also have 5 years of security updates.
