The Oppo Find N2 Flip is the Chinese brand’s first foldable clamshell smartphone. By launching in France in the coming months, it will clearly seek to hurt the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.
The year 2023 in France will see Oppo coming to Samsung for noise on foldable smartphones. During its annual Inno Day event, the Chinese brand indeed presented its Find N2 Flip. Its name clearly indicates, this device put on a clamshell format. And the nice little surprise is that it will arrive a little later in Europe. It therefore clearly comes up against Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 4 – or the future Z Flip 5, of which nothing is known at the moment.
Why “Oppo Find N2 Flip”?
First of all, we need to clarify one point. Why is there a “2” in the name of this smartphone when it is the first of its kind from Oppo. Quite simply to have a nomenclature aligned with the classic Oppo Find N2, a book-format smartphone that we were able to take in hand, but which is still not planned for France.

What does the Oppo Find N2 Flip have in store for us? The official global presentation of the smartphone sets the tone: the goal is to “correct several points of frustrationof previous Flip models — that is, those of competitors. Thus, two advantages are particularly highlighted:
- the external screenlargest ever on a flip smartphone» ;
- a new generation of the hinge which had already attracted a lot on the first Find N.
A mini smartphone on the smartphone
In all markets, a brand seeks to stand out a little from the competition. Here, the Oppo Find N2 Flip comes to show its aesthetic difference, especially when answered. With a 3.26-inch panel integrated vertically, the smartphone promises to be easily usable when folded. This is not the traditional main quality of flip smartphones, however, although the Motorola Razr 2022 already has in this sense.
The Oppo Find N2 Flip thus boasts of being able to display up to six notifications at the same time on the external screen and of displaying a comfortable preview of the photos that you can take with the main camera of the smartphone, of better quality than the classic selfie. In other words, you have a kind of mini smartphone on the smartphone. It remains to be seen whether the uses around this screen will appeal to the public.
The other promises are also very attractive with an announced autonomy of a whole day thanks to the 4300 mAh battery which, according to the brand, has been greatly optimized. Added to this is a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chip and a main screen (the one that folds) of 6.8 inches (Full HD +, 120 Hz) which is close to a classic phone in 2022. We do not know at this stage its screen ratio.
The camera on the back consists of two cameras, one of which has a Sony-designed 50-megapixel IMX890 sensor. The other is an ultra wide-angle on which we still lack details.
A hinge that does not bend
Oppo is also very proud to highlight its hinge. In addition to promising 400,000 folds without degradation – which should be more than enough for several years – the brand also manages to completely erase the hollow line that normally takes shape in the center of foldable screens. Here, you not only don’t see any, but you don’t feel it under your fingers either.
We can confirm that it is really very impressive and very successful on the Oppo Find N2, but for the Find N2 Flip, for the moment, we have to take the manufacturer at its word. There is reason to be confident, these are normally exactly the same hinges on both models (at different sizes of course).
The hinge also knows how to be done discreetly. We thus end up with a phone of 188 grams – which is very correct – and a fairly classic thickness of 7.45 mm when the Oppo Find N2 Flip is unfolded.
Oppo Find N2 Flip price and release date
For the price and the release date, it is necessary for the moment to be satisfied with rather vague information, but giving a good idea. The Oppo Find N2 Flip will be released in France during the first quarter of 2023. In addition, a spokesperson for the brand explains that his group does not want to break market prices, but rather put on added value in terms of embedded technologies and materials used.
In other words, it should be understood that the price of the Oppo Find N2 Flip in France will be very similar to that of a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.
