no more deliveries in France before 2023

Tesla’s star model, the Model 3 is an incredible success. With 24,911 registrations recorded in 2021, the American sedan takes the top step in the French market for electric vehicle sales.

Tesla’s electric car has nearly 450 km of autonomy in its basic configuration, in propulsion, and climbs to more than 600 km in its “Great Autonomy” version with all-wheel drive.

The only problem is that the production rates are not keeping up and the next “production” models could only be delivered from February 2023. Between the shortage of semiconductors, the war between Ukraine and Russia and the difficulties of supplying parts, Tesla cannot keep pace. By adding options, delivery dates can be improved to November 2022.

This concerns two of the three Model 3s offered. Only the “Performance” version is not (yet) impacted by this decision and can still be delivered in May 2022.

A sharply rising price

While a first increase had already been noted last week, Tesla again increased the price of the basic version of its electric car. It is now displayed at €46,990 in the manufacturer’s online configurator.

With this new rate, the Tesla Model 3 loses its maximum bonus of €6,000 (which is reserved for electric vehicles under €45,000).

With its government bonus capped at €2,000, the price of a base Tesla Model 3 jumps to €44,990, an increase of €6,000 from last week.
