The winners of the national competition for the 1st edition of the Spark program, organized by Huawei Morocco in support of the startup ecosystem, were announced during a ceremony held on Wednesday in Rabat.
This competition ended with the awarding of prizes to the first three startups, selected by a jury, who were awarded gratifying financial rewards and will also benefit from the possibility of accessing the technical and human resources enabling them to achieve their full growth potential.
Thus, the first prize of 15,000 dollars was awarded by the jury to the start-up “Sobrus”, the second prize of 10,000 dollars was awarded, for its part, to “Weego” while the third prize of 5,000 dollars went to was attributed to “Agenz”.
In addition, an “Orange prize” prize of 40,000 dirhams was awarded by Orange, one of the program partners, to the “PCS Agri” start-up, which won fourth place.
In addition, start-ups Foodeals, Planiverse, Pixover and Simpler design took fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth place respectively.
On this occasion, the deputy general manager of Huawei Morocco, Faustin XU, indicated that Huawei Morocco, aware of the need to act as a leader, has implemented a series of programs including Spark, which pays particular attention to young people. digital talent.
The Spark program is an ambitious international program that aspires to support and strengthen the technological capacities of startups operating in the various digital sectors so that they can develop their products and improve their growth.
Developed by Huawei Cloud and supported by the Moroccan government, but also by several Huawei partners such as Technopark, AUSIM, MAScIR, Orange, ADD, MNF or even SMIT, the Moroccan edition of this first-class program plan is entirely dedicated to national startups that operate in the field of new technologies (AI, Connectivity, Cloud, etc.).
As a reminder, the Huawei Spark program was initiated in Morocco last July during the Digitech Ecosystem Summit 2022. It testifies more than ever to the tenor of Huawei’s commitment to help Morocco transform into a true “African digital hub”. and nurture digital talent across the country.
