Chinese telecommunications company Huawei is working to advance digital development across a wide range of industries in Nepal.
The Chinese telecom giant was part of its actions during the Huawei Connect 2022 event, held in the Nepalese capital Kathmandu on Tuesday. This important event for the international information and communication technology (ICT) industry brought together more than 400 managers, experts and partners from the sector.

Nicholas Ma, President of Huawei Asia Pacific Enterprise Business Group, introduced three ways Huawei and its business partners can support Nepal in the digital economy, especially digital infrastructure, industrial applications and digital talent.
“Nepal has made significant progress within the Digital Nepal Framework. Huawei is able to leverage its international and regional innovation capabilities to support Nepal with cloud infrastructure and data centers, in addition to enable accessible, affordable and inclusive digital connectivity and accelerate digital transformation,” Ma explained at the event.

The Nepalese government has launched the Digital Nepal Framework to highlight the importance of making Nepal a digital economy, said Purushottam Khanal, chairman of the Nepal Telecommunications Authority.
“Huawei Connect will play a major role in this expectation by introducing the future trends and technological solutions that await us,” he added.
