Here are some practical options to know to customize the locked screen of your Galaxy smartphone running Samsung One UI 5 (Android 13).
One UI 5 is the interface under Android 13 available (or to come) on a good number of Samsung Galaxy smartphones β at the stage of the Galaxy S22 Ultra that we use in this paper. Overall, this software experience adds some subtle, but interesting new features for users. Among them, we note in particular the possibility of easily changing several elements of the locked screen.
Here is how to customize the locked screen of your smartphone under Samsung One UI 5 (Android 13).
Customize Lock Screen on Samsung Smartphones (One UI 5)
On One UI 5, customizing the locked screen becomes really easy. The first step is simply to hold down on an empty area of ββthe screen for a long time.
Then, several choices are available to you. But beware : before you go longer, be aware that you have to press the button Completed at the top right of the screen to save your changes. If you exit any other way, the lost customizations will be lost.
Change the display of time and notifications
With One UI 5, Samsung looked to iOS 16’s Lock Screen for inspiration for the clock design. Be careful, you won’t be able to move elements of the wallpaper in front of the clock, but you still have some interesting choices.
After the long press, you will see frames appear around the and the area where the notifications are displayed and you will have to click on them to access the customizations. You should already know that both frames allow you to change the display size of these elements (with a swipe of your finger) or even remove them from the locked screen (by enabling the β button in the upper right corner).
Beyond that, you can enjoy some interesting customizations. On the clock to display a pane at the bottom of the screen where you can change the font of the numbers, the display style (alignment, layout, digital or analog, etc.) or the color. Moreover, for this last detail, know that the option on the far left of the palette allows you to automatically adapt the color of the clock according to that of the wallpaper to appear well.

By clicking on the notifications frame, you can choose between showing only icons (discreet, but you have to press them to consult the alerts) or occupy the width and show the details. You will also have control over the level of transparency if you opt for the second choice.
Change app shortcuts
By remaining pressed on the locked screen, you can also change the application shortcuts that appear at the bottom. By default, you have the Phone (left) and Camera (right) apps. By clicking on one of the icons, you will be able to select other applications or tasks to perform with these shortcuts.

Remember, however, that you will still need to unlock the phone to access an application such as a music streaming platform, the gallery or YouTube, even through the shortcut. On the other hand, activate do not disturb mode or the flashlight is done instantly.
Change blocked wallpaper
Another practical option after a long press: changing the wallpaper blocked. There is indeed a button at the top left giving direct access to the Consultation of my wallpapers section in the Wallpaper and style settings.
All that remains is to choose between the wallpapers offered by Samsung or the images saved in your gallery.
Indicate your contact details
Between the two app shortcuts at the bottom is a button to add your contact details to the home screen. One UI 5 allows you to display your phone number or your email address in this space so that you can be contacted again if you lose your phone somewhere.

It is not certain that this option will please everyone, many people probably do not want this kind of personal information to remain displayed on the locked screen of their smartphones. However, it is always good to offer this possibility for those who feel they need it.
