Google’s future Pixel Tablet has landed on Facebook Marketplace

Google gave us a preview of the Pixel Tablet at its I/O 2022 conference last year. Although the company has yet to announce the device’s release date, certain details, such as whether it will double as a smart speaker, were later confirmed by Google. Now, a pre-release prototype of the Pixel Tablet has gone on sale on Facebook Marketplaceproviding our first real look at the device and some additional information.

The Pixel Tablet shown in the images has black edges, unlike the white edges that Google showed in the renders. According to the Facebook Marketplace listing, the Pixel Tablet will come with a charging dock that gives it an analog appearance to Google Nest when docked. The dock, finished in a woven fabric analog to Google’s Nest line of smart speakers, features the company’s ‘G’ logo, a charging port on the back and POGO pins on the front for connecting to the tablet.

The listing also includes photos of the device’s home screen, which features a tablet-optimized version of the Pixel Launcher and At a Glance widget. It also confirms that the tablet will have a storage capacity of up to 256 GB, as a leak had suggested. Another image shows that the front camera will be integrated into the top edge, and the tablet will have a USB-C port on the left edge, which will be accompanied by speaker grilles and device microphones.

Although the listing does not reveal the hardware specifications of the tablet, from previous leaks known thatit will be powered by the same SoC Tensor G2 than the Pixel 7 series and will feature a 10.95 inch screen. It would be equipped with two 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 sensors and would feature a stylus based on USI 2.0 technology.

The Pixel Tablet looks set to be a promising addition to the Android tablet market when it’s introduced next year. I can’t wait to see what other features and capabilities it has to offer.
