Changan Deep Blue S7, a stylish electric crossover

It is via new brands created in partnership with CATL and Huawei that Changan is conducting most of its electrical offensive. This is the second model from its mid-range Deep Blue brand, the S7 crossover.

Lumin, Deep Blue and Avatr, here are the trio of brands on which Changan intends to press its electric offensive. For the moment only in China, but at the current pace, the arrival in Europe of one or other of these brands, or all three, is only a matter of time.

Closely derived from the SL03 sedan, this S7 crossover (not looking for logic in the names) takes up the stylistic tics with marked angles and a three-pointed star front and rear light signature. With its 4750 mm long and 1930 mm wide, it fits in the D segment. Faced with a certain Tesla Model Y therefore, but also for the Chinese market against an Aion LX, a Nio EC6…

Regarding for the moment photos from the monthly publications of the MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology), the details remain few. On the other hand, we know that three versions will be offered, which correspond to what we find today on the SL03.

Two electric propulsion models will have a power of 160 or 190 kW. The third version will receive a 175 kW engine, but above all will add a range extender. It will be a 4-cylinder 1.5 atmospheric 70 kW. On the SL03, the small motor is paired with a 58.1 kWh battery, the larger with an 80 kWh unit, and the version with content extender with 28.4 kWh. These capabilities could also be carried over to the S7.
