Apple opens its self-service repair shop in France

Apple recently opened its new self-service repair shop in France and in seven other European countries! A revolution on the scale of users who will be able to replace the battery of their iPhone themselves, and also for Apple.

For years, Apple has campaigned against the right to repair, blocking bills in the United States. But the manufacturer completely changed its tune in April, launching a Self Service Repair store for the American market, with the promise of opening it in Europe before the end of the year. This is now the case in France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Poland and the United Kingdom!

Genuine Apple spare parts

In concrete terms, users can buy more than 200 original spare parts and tools there, and download operation manuals fully translated into French for free. These are actually components and guides that are used by repairers in the Apple Store and in authorized service centers. The spare parts are also sold at the same price to the public as well as in Apple stores.

Currently, parts and tools can be ordered for the iPhone 12/13, iPhone 12/13 mini, iPhone 12/13 Pro, iPhone 12/13 Pro Max and iPhone SE 3rd generation, as well as the MacBook Air (M1, 2020), the 13-inch MacBook Pro (M1, 2020), and the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro (2021). The price of the battery for an iPhone 13 Pro is €77.03, i.e. €2 cheaper than the repair carried out by Apple.

Nevertheless, it can be a solution for users who live far from an Apple Store or an authorized repairer, or for anyone who is comfortable enough with handling sensitive components. Customers could return the remote parts to Apple for refurbishment or recycling.
