A fully functional Apple computer, hand-numbered by Steve Jobs, has just been auctioned off. Its exact selling price: €417,549.50.
Once again, prices have soared for an original edition of Apple I. RR Auction has just awarded a lot including an Apple I in working order at more than 415,000 euros. Indeed, there are only 200 copies of Apple I computers. The copy that interests us is the Apple 1, number 78. Still in working order, it was restored in 2018 by Apple expert Corey Cohen.
It came with a letter of authenticity confirming Steve Jobs’ handwriting on the card, and also came with the original Apple cassette interface, original user manual, surplus ASCII keyboard from the same era and a Sanyo 4205 open-frame monitor.
